The Inspiring Story of an Amputee

I see a certain man, who has lost an arm and a leg, almost daily.
He is quiet, never asks for help or money, food, anything.
Almost daily, his small shelter is destroyed, and he is compelled to build a new one.
He never gives up, just keeps on going.
One day, I asked him how he does it: never give up, keep on moving, keep on building a new home.
All he did was stare at me, quietly, as always.
Here is his picture.

Happy Halloween!

Listen to my Heart for a Time

So hello everyone, y'all probably thought this was an abstract short because of the title but SUPRISE! It's not because I'm working on a new book and I remembered today, "Oh yeah, I have a blog that nobody is going to read because I never post anything anymore" so I really was thinking of you while reading Adam Young's blog and giggling all alone at home to myself.
Moral of the story? I thought, since National Novel Writing Month was coming up, I'd list all the books I'm working on and tell you a little about all of them. Prepare to be disappointed, though, because several of them have already been abandoned.

This is how my files look. Very organized, yes.
So the first book on the list, entitled Blank, is an abandoned one. This one started out as the idea of this young girl who was selected by the government to become a force of the Secretest Secrety Service. (Many of my books will sound like this.) She went through a lot of upgrades and painful things to become this force, and she had a companion who helped her out with everything. Her name was Tagg and his name was Trevor. The idea was that they would eventually overthrow the government, but not fall in love.
The next book, Centurion, I will have a special post for, since it is new and exciting and wonderful.
Then, there is How Beautiful We Were. This is about a futuristic society in which everyone eventually turned into robots, since whenever something broke or got old on their bodies - a broken arm or failing eyesight - that part was replaced by a new, robotic part. This even happened to their brains: that is, when someone starts losing memories and getting old, their brain is replaced with a robot one, and they turn into what is called an Android. Well, the grandson of the man who invented the robotic brain, named Jex Gear, is determined to put a stop to it. This is about how he set about doing that.
Next on the list is I Am Nothing. Depressing, right? This is about a girl who is persecuted for being one of the rare magic users in the world. She has two personalities, one for each form of magic: a negative and a positive persona. I got this idea when I was hanging out with some awesome people who were of the Gothic persuasion. I came out one day wearing this brilliant yellow shirt, and the next day dressed like them, in blacks and dark colors. That’s where this one came from. And, unfortunately, it’s halfway abandoned.
Last of Five I’m not going to talk about. Suffice it to say that…. It all started with a name.
Ranco is about a Los Angeles boy who meets a shape-shifter living in the city. They strike up an unlikely friendship and become partners battling crime.
Skye is about freaky government experiments, again. An alien ambassador comes to Earth to ally itself with the American Government, and does so by unlocking elemental powers in certain younger people. And it’s abandoned.
Slash is the biggest book so far in this list. It’s inspired, partially, by the movie “Wreck-It Ralph,” and the songs “Shut Up and Drive,” from that same movie. It’s about underground street racers, explosions, heartbreak, sorrow, loss, revenge, speed, and good looking people. This is a book that I love opening up randomly and adding a few lines to every now and again.
Sylvain Life is a book about an explorer named Ambrose Fontain who believes in elves. He sets out to find one, and does. It doesn’t really have much of a plot, so it’s pretty much abandoned by now.
The Chronicles of Viveria was my first attempt at writing the Last of Five. It didn’t work out, but I never deleted it, for some reason.
The Outfitter was an interesting attempt at a new writing style. It is about a girl named Skeyna and her mother, Morgan. They owned a shop that prepared supplies for adventurers that was pretty successful because the owner, Morgan, had the ability to read her customer’s futures and tell from that what they would need on their adventures. Abandoned due to lack of plot.
The Right Side of the Fence is my attempt at an autobiography about life. Abandoned due to lack of plot. Just kidding! I just never really felt like anything was that important that I needed to write it down.
The Writer’s Passage is about a girl who lives in the time of knights and kings, and who attempts to be accepted into the highly secretive but widely acclaimed Writer’s Guild. (It’s actually where you learn how to write magic. Cool, right?) Once again, abandoned due to writer’s failure.
Werewolf Nightmares was my first and last attempt to write down my frenetic and insane dreams. Abandoned because of sheer psychotic insanity.
So, there you have it! A list of the half-finished books that I have locked away on my computer. TaDa!

Please forgive me for rambling in your ears (eyes?) and spurting nonsense at delicious times of the day.

Mary Doodles and Apologies, once again

I'm so sorry I can't seem to find the time to post anymore!
I had an awesome summer camp in which many interesting and sad and wonderful things happened, and then I got my new bow. I got back on the fourth from SoCal, and now I don't have any abstract shorts to give you.
But!
I found a Youtube channel I really liked!
Here is a sample video!
Her name is Mary Doodles and if I had money and her email, all of her art would be on all of my walls.
So, check that out, and hopefully in the eight days before my next summer thingy I have to do, I can get you some abstract shorts.
Please love me patiently,
Ivey/Becky

On-The-Road Concert

Dearest of dear readers: My mother the Queen, my brother Superman, and I just now went on a trip. It wasn't long, thirty or so minutes there and thirty or so minutes back, and I let Superman have the front seat so I could be all alone in the back. Well, I put on a new playlist on my iPod, and listened to it on the way there and back. The Queen and Superman listened to the radio and were social while I listened to my iPod.
The point?
The entire time we were on the road, I was in Tokyo, at a concert I had organized. I was nineteen people at the concert, both the twelve people performing and seven people in the front row of the audience. All of those people (the people that I was/were) were undercover agents of a powerful family clan based in Tokyo, gathering covert information on some subjects in the audience.
I bet the Queen and Superman thought I was just being anti-social.
As it was, the concert was a great success, and the mission went almost exactly as planned and the results were more vital than imagined.
...
I do something like this every time I go on a roadtrip.
Meaning that I am usually representing any number of individuals on some adventure that might involve music when I am traveling.
Wow. I never really realized that until today.
Anyway, I just wanted to show you a small part of my incredible, imaginary/alternate reality/parallel universe/multiverse world.
Maybe I'll show you some more sometime.
And thank you for reading, wonderful readers.

Happy Anniversary!

Whee! A whole year!
I'm sorry I didn't get this template up earlier, I thought I would get up nice and early in the morning and do it, but I forgot in the glory of getting up early.
Also! I will try to post some more abstract shorts during the week, and maybe even a video....How about that?
As you might have noticed, as well....my name is different. Yes, I joined my Blog Spot and Google Plus accounts, and we'll see how that goes. No, my name isn't Ivey. Nor is it Ivey Vine. My extended family's name is Ivey, and so I went with that and made a whole persona to go with it. Now you know my dreadful secret, here are some things about the mysterious blog writer that I wanted to share with you.
1. I prefer treble to bass. In my truck, the treble is always slightly higher than the bass. I like the clearer sound it gives.
2. Yes, I drive a truck. I live on a farm, so it's just more practical to have a truck than a teeny tiny little car.
3. I love archery. I'm very good at it, and I practice at least once a day, if I'm up to it.
4. I'm a cat and a dog person. I just can't decide between the two!
5. I have been bitten by dogs, cats, horses, toads, frogs, lizards, alligator lizards, gophers, hamsters, a snake... a lot of things. When I was younger I could get any dog to bite me.
6. I love online comics. Currently, I'm reading Gunnerkrigg Court, the Archipelago, Earthsong, and Strays Online. And I am always searching for more.
7. I don't like watching television, and oftentimes I will decline watching a movie with my family to go to bed early or read.
8. I am a pyromaniac. I love fire, fireworks, things that burn, matches.... Fire is just so intense. I love it. If I was an elemental, fire would most likely be my element.
9. I can't play any musical instrument. I've tried piano and violin, and some guitar, but I just don't seem to be that musical. I can sing half-way decently, at least.
10. I have never been in a relationship, and I have not had my first kiss. I'm waiting for my future husband.
Now you know ten things about me! Maybe you already knew some of them, but, I mean, the pyromaniac part caught you by surprise, didn't it?
I'll try and post more soon, Dearest, most Wonderful, Awesome Readers!

A New Book

Dear readers: I've started a new book.
I haven't finished my other one, the Last of Five, but this couldn't wait.
I can't share the book with you because I'm afraid of people stealing it, but I had to share this with someone.
Last night, I woke up sometime in the dark hours, and I had this idea in my head. It was like someone opened me up and put it there. I didn't dream about it. I didn't think about it. It was just there.
I've heard of people who get flashes of inspiration like that, but I have never had it happen that way. My ideas usually start simple. My entire dream universe started with a name, and grew from there. This time, it didn't happen that way.
Anyway, the book is called, "How Beautiful We Were." The funny thing is, it's about a future where humans turn into robots called Androids over their lifetime. This happens because when something breaks or stops working, say, if someone from that future breaks an arm or gets arthritis in their legs, they get a new mechanical arm or a new set of mechanical legs. Since it is a natural thing for the human body to sort of break down over time, eventually, everyone in that world becomes a robot.
The book is about the one person who realized how wrong and unnatural it was for this to happen, and how he challenged the world as he knows it (how he will know it? It's from the future [will be from the future?] and I don't know how to phrase it.)
Anyway, my dearest readers, thank you for letting me share this with you. I'll let you know when I finish writing it, but don't hold your breath. It could be a while.

Intro to Don't Keep It Real

Hello. My name is Ivey Vine and I don't like the real world. I love dragons, though, and all the mythical creatures I can read about. As well as disliking the real world, I dislike improper spelling and grammar.
I started this blog because I have many, many more worlds I have created in order to escape the terrible menace of the real world. And I also want to share them all. Please, if you have worlds of your own, don't keep them for yourself. Write a book. Make a blog. Write an online comic, if drawing is your thing.
Because keeping several worlds in your head is bound to cause internal damage.
